So another day and another project!

My new organized hutch with all my dishes!

This is the before pic of the duvet! I will post the after pics once I get the roman shades hung up!
Last night I went to bed super early because I was not feeling well. I woke up today with a sore throat, little fever, achy muscles...but I thought I can't just lie here and do nothing all day so I decided to take a gorgeous Pottery Barn duvet that I got from my mother in law which she got at a yard sale and transform it into two roman shades for our bedroom! They turned out so cute and they were super easy! They take some time but they are easy! I have not hung them yet because I need to get some wood to attach the shade to. Once that is done then I can hang them up. I am so excited to see them up in my windows! The greatest thing is that the duvet is a queen size, so I only used the top of the duvet to make the shades and now I have the whole other side to make pillows! So hopefully I can tackle that project tomorrow. For young womens tomorrow night, I will be showing the Laurels how to make simple pajama pants. So needless to say, my sewing machine & serger have been put to good use! The other day I decided to move things around a bit in my kitchen. So that of course ment going through and getting rid of many things I never use. Love the feeling of decluttering! Well I decided to put all of my dishes on my little cabinet/hutch. It works great! Now all of the dishes are right next to our table! Also makes it a little easier for the kids to put the dishes away (instead of having to reach really high into the cupboard). Gotta love it! I think I have been going a little stir-crazy staying in all of the time because of the winter. So that is why I am always thinking of something to do, paint, fix, whatever. Gotta keep my mind busy I guess. Anyone doing any fun projects??

I wish I had your energy! My house needs some sprucing up and some major de-cluttering! Maybe with the spring-like weather we are having I will feel inspired to get some of the painting and other jobs done! :)
